Illustrative is an international festival for contemporary illustration and graphic art, founded in Berlin 2006. After the last festivals in Paris and Zurich were a great success the ILLUSTRATIVE Art Festival will return to Berlin in 2009 for 17 days on October 15th .
I was asked to transmit this info to you all, if you are in Berlin in Oct. I'd check it out!
Anthony Gormley Asian Field was produced by 347 inhabitants of the Chinese city of Xiangshan, aged between 7 and 70 years. Their brief was to produce clay figures that were palm-sized, could stand upright, and have two holes for eyes. Gormley had planned to include 100,000 figures, but total ended up being 192,000, made over a five day period.
